Does Ancestry Play a Role in Cancer Predisposition?
Carey Weiner was 35 was she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her maternal grandmother died from breast cancer, and her mother and aunt tested positive for a genetic mutation in the BRCA1 gene. Before her diagnosis she expressed her concern to her gynecologist who told her, in error, that she was too young to worry about it. Click on the light blue link above to read her story.
